I am continuing my focus on coastal landscapes and scenes based on places I love along the East Coast. I like to paint cheerful paintings that bring viewers a sense of peace. I am heavily influenced by impressionists with their fast plein-air methods and post-impressionists like Van Gogh who also painted heavily from memory. I want to share my love of my happy places with others to hopefully encourage them to explore and find the same joy or feeling.
I have a very strong attachment to New England landscapes, seascapes, and nature settings. I was born in Colorado, but moved to Acton, Massachusetts when I was a kid with my family. I received my Bachelors in Fine Arts from Suffolk University. I fell in love with Boston, being by the water. In my current adult years I have lived and worked on the North Shore including working on boats. Ultimately, I settled in Reading, MA where I have my studio in my home. I currently teach art to kids at Munroe Center for the Arts in Lexington, MA. I am part of Salem Arts Association and Marblehead Arts. I attend many craft fairs from Gloucester, Boston, and Maine where I sell my work. I also do commissions with a wide variety of themes.
