As the son of a Polaroid executive, Michael has been immersed in photography his entire life. In 1991, he turned his passion for photography into a profession. Early in his career he worked for several national portrait corporations and in 1992 he purchased and ran a high-end portrait photography business in Topsfield, Massachusetts.
Michael has exhibited his fine art photography for the past forty plus years in both group and solo shows. As the “son of a son of a sailor” Michael has always been drawn to the sea and the majority of his fine art photography work reflects this. Spending his childhood summers on Cape Cod at the oceans edge and currently living by the sea in Beverly he is immersed daily in the beauty and space of the coastline and all things nautical.
Michael has also been teaching photography at Endicott College since 1995. He is Professor of Photography and Coordinator of Digital Technologies for the School of Visual and Performing Arts. He designed and taught the first digital photography class at Endicott in 2002. He teaches all levels of Digital Photography Classes as well as classes in both Portraiture and Fine Art Photography. In his role as Coordinator of Digital Technologies, he oversees and manages the Photography Studio, the Mac Labs, PC Labs, the Digital Print Lab, and the Digital Alchemy Lab. He has a Bachelor of the Arts and a Master of the Arts from Boston College.
