I create expressive drawings of animals that seek to capture the often hilarious but always authentic range of expressions our animals show us. My work is solidly representational but the animals expression is important to me as I draw. I offer original drawings in a variety of sizes, a limited selection of giclees prints of popular drawings. I make a high quality line of notecards & seasonal items such as calendars & holiday ornaments available too. I love to draw your pets - please inquire about custom pet portrait commissions.

A late blooming artist, I committed to my art practice in 2020. Soon i realized it was my true passion & I threw myself into it fully.

Initially I wanted to learn how to draw to improve my painting but when I met charcoal my aspirations shifted. I enjoyed working with charcoal so much more than any other medium that I resolved to spend as much time with charcoal as possible.

Why Animals?
I’m a lifelong animal lover - I grew up with dogs and cats with horses and ponies and farm animals close by. Animals make the best subject matter for me because they are completely unselfconscious - there is no artifice in any animals expression and it is their range of expressions that I love to capture. Charcoal lends itself perfectly to animal art as it brings an expressive warmth to each piece. There is an infinite amount of animals to draw, each lending a unique perspective on life. I draw my animals, your animals and those I encounter in daily life.

I am intrigued by the popular theory that you can improve at anything if you spend enough time and effort on it. I think my art and my story encourage people to find their thing and pursue it enthusiastically to whatever extent you can.

I cannot imagine my life if it were not filled with sweet critters and puppy dogs and my art.
