Letterpress - The process of printing from an inked raised surface.
Using lead type, Beth hand sets copy to create letterpressed printed wares include calendars, greeting cards, personalized stationery, coasters, bookmarks, bookplates, note pads, writing sets, prints and ornaments. Most of the pieces are printed on a Victorian printing press that is manually powered and hand fed, only able to print one color at a time and one piece at a time.
Working primarily with salvaged lead type and lead cuts, Beth enjoys experimenting and pushing the craft of letterpress, always looking for new ways to use the centuries old method. Beth's Sigwalt tabletop press accompanies her at all shows, giving visitors the chance to touch a part of history and print their own piece.
