I hand paint each shell. I use different types and sizes of shells. The backs of the larger shells are equipped with feet so that they can be used as trays and come with easels so they can be displayed upright. Each painting is original, unique, and signed. All pieces, including the ornaments, are varnished.
Much of my life has centered around different forms of art. Having spent most of that life on Nantucket has fostered a love of the sea. I was trained in watercolor, worked in scrimshaw, glass flamework and more recently in shell art. I also am a musician and have recorded five albums. The cape offers inspiration for all these endeavors.
