I hand paint and letter artwork on recycled, repurposed and unconventional materials, such as, vinyl albums. cabinet doors, reclaimed lumber and barnboard, hats, bags, jackets and more.
I have artwork on all these materials, but I might use the wood from broken furniture and make earrings from albums that I have hand cut and then painted. My finished products can be wall art, but anything that is wearable, as well, jackets, hats (wide brimmed, trucker, baseball, sun or bucket), shirts and a variety of belt bags. I also have hand painted ornaments, sap buckets that are transformed into garbage can and storage containers.
The one thing that all my work has in common, regardless of the canvas, I hand paint everything and any of the lettering is free hand, I do not use a stencil, computer, etc., to create my work.
I live in the middle of the Adirondack Mountains and on the edge of Lake Champlain. My love of nature not only inspires me, but it makes me want to protect it, even if only in my small way, by using items that would otherwise be tossed in the landfill, the things that might not have any useful life, I use as my canvas. I can't remember a time that I didn't create, whether it was drawing, painting, sculpting or something else. My work brings me calm and peace and I want to evoke that in others, when they look at it.
