I use many different mediums, such as colored pencils, acrylics, and pastels, pen & ink watercolors, and oils. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process. Each idea manifests in its own individual style.
Jamie Muller was born in Danbury Ct into a Irish-Italian family, many members were known to have artistic talents. She grew up in Woodstock Ct. and started drawing at a young age
As a self-taught artist starting in 1958 with graphite drawings and pastels, she created still life pictures and sketched landscapes.
She took a few art classes through the local community college learning texture and design. She began working with acrylics.
In 2000, she began using pen & ink as her mediums.
She now lives in Florida in the winter and on Cape Cod in the summer. Her mediums now are Watercolor and Oils. She is always looking for the perfect subject, optimal lighting and color. On occasion she will design pieces in stained glass.
As a self taught artist she mainly focuses on realism and some abstract, focuses on color an shapes and the detail in a subject.
three professional painters where her inspirations for watercolor. one was local artist in the town she grew up in and two of her family members , who were professional painters. She began experimenting in 2020 working with watercolors.
Her work has been recognized in Art & Color 365 , In N. Fort Myers art show won second place for an oil painting “ Paris treasure” in 2024.
