I am a digital illustrator by trade, more specifically I use Photoshop as a drawing program, typically through my natural hand directly onto a screen using a stylus pen. I tend to lean toward more traditional looking brushes in the program, and maintain a more naturalistic approach to illustration, just with modern tools (mostly for the sake of convenience). Any digital tricks are usual minute and more for color correction and/or use of layers. This way, my art is still very organic, and maintains some of the charm of traditional mediums, but also has a more bold color and an ease in the way of editing for print production.
All prints are produced at home on my printer, all custom cuts done by hand. The prints are then hand packaged using recycled cardboard sized down using a laser cutter. My stickers are also printed and cut from home using a Cricut, and all my buttons hand pressed.
I am a 29 year old digital illustrator, native to Gloucester. I earned my BFA in Animation at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2017.
Nowadays I work as a freelance artist (mostly online), print vendor, and also as an employee at one of the largest comic shops in New England. Because of this, I am surrounded by a myriad of different perspectives in art every day, motivating me to continue working on my own comics in the hopes of being published in the near future.
As for my freelance career, I have clients all around the world, mostly requesting more casual illustration work for personal use. However, I have also produced more extensive commissions for large content creators, as well as a few album covers for growing musical artists.
On top of all this, I also earned my spot as a finalist in Gloucester's 400th Anniversary Commemorative Medal Design Competition, with my design being minted and sold to the people of Gloucester for a few years now.
While my work in the world of art is a bit more unorthodox for Gloucester, I still never forget my roots, and have always made an effort to produce work that appeals to the people for whom share my origins, just with a more unconventional twist. My hope is that this shines through in my work, despite my other influences.
