The pieces are sculptures meant to be hung on a wall. Most of the pieces are inspired by natural forms, make use of negative space and middle relief. They are made from reclaimed wood, only lightly sanded, and oiled but not stained. The natural grain and imperfections of the wood become part of the sculptures' elements. Some of the items for sale will be a 6' slab cut diptych, 2' wide birds, 2'-4' spiraled forms (some with mirrors).
Using reclaimed wood, I create forms that represent moments of transition – the falling leaf, the shed feather, the phoenix rising. This work is an invitation to notice and honor beauty in its many temporary forms. All the pieces are lightly sanded and oiled, but never stained, to highlight the natural features of the wood.
