Heather's traditional watercolors, mandalas and original ecoprints are created using multiple washes and dry brush work to bring the natural world to life in bright colors. Flowers that look beautiful enough to pick, birds of prey that look ready to take flight and wolves that are real enough to howl are some of her favorite subject to paint along with trees of all shapes and sizes. She loves to combine symbols, realistic nature scenes and animals, and her original words in calligraphy for truly unique art for the soul.
Heather is an award winning watercolor artist, Signature Member of the New England Watercolor Society and juried member of the NH Art Association. She is a self taught artist who grew up surrounded by easels and paint brushes while her mother taught art classes out of her childhood home. Trained as a physician, she left her full time practice in 2009 for a part time pathology position so she could commit more time to her creative path. The painting process is a meditation for Heather and she creates with the intention of reminding herself and others of the beauty within us and all around us. Her art is an exploration of the beauty and mystery of nature and spirit.
