My creations in dichroic & art glass are hand cut, ground to specific shapes & designs. Glass is kiln fused, sometimes slumped & hand etched. My pendants are made of dichroic glass & feature mostly nautical themes which change color. My bowls, coasters & hairclips are all kiln fired twice, once for fusing & once for slumping. All are wind chimes are hand cut & fused art glass & assembled with reclaimed hardwood holder which is made in my woodshop. My compass bases are hand cut & finished in our wood shop. My pewter castings which are used in our compasses & themed necklaces are hand crafted in wax & then spun cast. I also create my own lamp work beads on a torch which are used in our themed necklaces & light catchers.
Creating things with my hands has always been a part of me. I began Unique Pewter in 1994 creating pewter charms and enhancing them with glass beads and semi-precious stones. With a picture framing & stained glass background in 2007 my interest was channeled into working with glass. I began lampworking with glass which then led to learning the techniques of kiln fired glass. Both of these techniques have led to me my primary passion for creating distinctive glass pieces.
