Vintage Charm by Monika is a collection of button jewelry handcrafted from silver plated wire using antique metal buttons, vintage/modern glass buttons, vintage mother of pearl buttons.
The button pendants, earrings and bracelets are the major part of my jewelry collection. I have handcrafted through the process of forming, bending and weaving quality craft wire into a bezel setting (which is the frame for the pendant) into which the button is set. I then adorn the bezel setting with fire polished glass beads which have been singularly wired on to the setting. After the button has been set into the handcrafted bezel setting, I weave a wind catcher effect on the back to permanently attach the button to the frame.

I enjoy doing various crafts and making pretty things. I started crafting in soap but taught myself the art of wire wrapping after I was introduced to it at one of my very first craft shows. I started out using semi-precious stones. Early on, I was introduced to antique and glass buttons by a collector and fell in love with them. I knew that I wanted to create something with them and 14 years later, I am still making button jewelry. I enjoy having the opportunity to do what I love, preserve a piece of the past and have the opportunity to visit places that I may not have experienced.
