I create original hoop art wall hangings, hand embroidered jewelry & accessories (necklaces, earrings, keychains, magnets, hair clips, ties, and baseball caps), and sell printed imagery of my designs in the form of fine art prints, stickers, pins, and canvas tote bags. I also offer custom work—including embroidered bridal accessories. All of my work is designed and hand stitched by me!
I earned my BFA in Accessory Design with a minor in Fiber Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2019. Funnily enough, I didn’t take any embroidery courses in college; I fell into experimenting with this medium on my own after graduating, and it quickly became my all-consuming passion. I loved the intentionality, textures, and freeform nature of hand embroidery. After two years of devoting my free time to finessing my style, I established my small business, My Darling Threads, in 2022. In this business, I’ve melded my worlds of embroidery and accessory design by creating unique hand embroidered jewelry, hats, small accessories, and custom bridal veils. Additionally, I create intricate fine art textile pieces comprised of threads–every stitch is like a brush stroke in a painting. By incorporating mixed media techniques like watercolor, botanical dyeing, felting, and beading into my work, I’m able to push the boundaries of traditional embroidery while adding more dimension and whimsy to my pieces. Much of my inspiration derives from wildlife, botanicals, and themes of love and femininity.
