After 9 years on the Cape, I am now living in the Adirondacks, and still making pottery. In the last 40 years I have continued to experiment with forms and glazes but have always focussed on the functionality of the pottery. This spring I have started playing with non-functional pieces that I am firing in a barrel with various combustible materials that leave random designs of the fire on the pottery. If I am successful, I will have some of this work for the show in Brewster, along with my high fire stoneware.
