For me, it’s been quite simple really. I love playing in the mud! The feel of it in my hands, the many colors of clay, the Earthen smell and oh, the possibilities. I’ve been playing in mud in one form or another my entire life. It’s not been until I became a mother that my work really settled into the refined and practical kind of table and serving ware you see today.
My maiden name of Childers, holds the first three letters of an integral concept I connect to when throwing pots on the wheel- chi. Essentially, better pots arise from this free flow of energy or chi.
