Flora Obscura was conceived by textile artist and designer Alison Kelly.
The project began simply as an experimentation of the symbiotic relationship between natural fibers and plants. Alison uses fresh leaves, flowers and plant extracts to create botanical imprints on silk and other natural fibers.
Through the Flora Obscura collections, Alison discovers ways in which to weave together the history and artistry of craft with the unpredictable nature of her distinct process. The delicate and fluid approach to design beckons those who embrace the surprises and wonders of the natural world.
