I am a rope splicer and work with rope to make mooring lines, dock lines, anchor rodes, dog leashes, collars, decorative bell pulls, bracelets, Rope Rugs, ect. Can custom splice any rope project a customer may have.
Born and raised in historic Gloucester, Massachusetts, I am a professional rope splicing service provider that takes pride in continuing the long-standing tradition of rope splicing in America's oldest seaport. I grew up lobstering and fishing with my father and learned 3-strand splices through that experience. I Served in the Marine Corps from 2009-2013 upon getting out started work at a local boatyard (Rose Marine) Shortly after getting back into the commercial marine business this time on the retail side I started splicing ropes as a side gig and self taught modern rope splices. In 2019 I officially started up Steve's Rope Splicing and briefly did sub-contract splicing for a major rope manufacture in the Fall River area where I had the opportunity to have splices tested and approved. My latest endeavors has been diversifying into pet products and more artistic uses of rope.
