Cape Cod Authors Janis Robinson Daly and Judy Lannon will be on hand with copies of their books available for sale and signing.
Janis writes historical fiction. Her two books, The Unlocked Path and its sequel, The Path Beneath Her Feet, celebrate women doctors of the early 20th century.
Judy writes women's fiction with strong protagonists facing generational struggles found in her award-winning books, Nine Days and its prequel, The Making of Genevieve.
Janis Robinson Daly: Discovery that her great-great grandfather was a founder of the Woman’s Medical College of Pennsylvania inspired Daly’s writing of The Unlocked Path. Balancing authenticity and rich historical detail with a flair to create emotional connections to fictional characters, she seeks to unearth the stories of women whose lives have remained in the shadows. A graduate of Wheaton College in Massachusetts, at the time, an all-women’s college, stimulated a heightened awareness of female-centric issues. Splitting her time between Cape Cod, New Hampshire, Florida and hotels along Route 95, more adventures beckon Daly to document other women in history whose stories need to be discovered.
Judy Lannon grew up on the south shore of MA. She considers herself fortunate to have spent her summers on Cape Cod. After graduating, she moved there permanently and now resides there with her husband and two perfectly imperfect standard poodles.
Judy started writing "after most people want to relax", she says. The ocean is a reoccurring theme in both of her books. The beach is her soul, her nourisher, her essence.
