One-of-a-kind needlepoint pictures handmade on Cape Cod in the American folk art tradition. Subjects include the history, nature and traditions of New England. Each picture is designed and hand-stitched by the artist, using a variety of yarns, such as wool and acrylic, cotton and metallic threads, and beads.
My mother taught me how to needlepoint about forty years ago and I have since developed a style which reflects my love of New England and of folk art. Needlepoint allows me to be creative while at the same time challenging me to work within its limitations. Using yarns and threads gives warmth to my art, and the labor-intensive nature of needlepoint adds a human dimension to it. Each of my pictures tells a story which can shine light on the past and provide a guide for our future. I hope you enjoy my art.
