Rustic Valley Designs started in 2017. While helping Fiancé, Mike, with his vinyl sign company, Katie had the idea to create something beautiful with the scrap pieces of wood all around the shop. Always having a taste for rustic looking décor, Katie quickly got to work creating her first sign with the reclaimed wood. The piece was a 5" x 24" sign with the name of their hometown and the coordinates of their home hung over the entryway. When a family member asked about having one of their own, the idea was born....What if other people would like these town signs for their home? Thus, Rustic Valley Designs was born. From this moment, Katie and Mike's thoughts went to other sign ideas, handmade bottle openers and humorous sayings that they could use. Within the following months, Katie had made her first Etsy sale and started looking for local fairs and festivals to attend with their signs. The first festival, The Blues and Brews Festival, was a hit and the two quickly realized they were on the right path. Since then, the product list has expanded to customized signs, canvas prints, wedding signs, apparel and more. Every wood product we offer is created using reclaimed lumber, pallets, or plywood.
