Most of my paintings are done in water colors and mixed media. Prints are reproduced from my original artwork and are either framed or applied to various functional surfaces such as boxes, tissue box covers, plaques, etc. My favorite subject matter is old barns, and farm animals.
Self-taught artist, Ruth Lorentzen has been professionally designing, producing and selling her art for over forty years. In 1972, she started her own commercial art business, which consisted of sign painting, illustrating and designing logos. Eventually, she phased out the commercial end of the business and began developing individualized pieces focusing on designing and creating. Ruth lives in Connecticut with her husband, two daughters, son-in-law and three granddaughters.
