We make specially crafted unique flavors of jams and jellies using fresh fruit, cane sugar and natural pectin. We buy most of our fruit from local farms because we believe our farmers need our support. Some of our flavors are classics such as our Beach Plum, but most of our flavors are our unique creations which can't be found anywhere else. We are more than just jam! Our jams are used in cooking, as marinades, as appetizers, as dessert toppings and in a vinaigrette.
The day we started Plum Island Jams we were at our home in Ipswich behind Plum Island, and I had just made Beach Plum Jelly for our breakfast. I had been laid off for over a year, and my oldest son and youngest brother and I began talking about starting a business. Being a former chemistry teacher and an avid jam maker, blending the two together seemed the perfect mix, and I had already been making different combinations of jams and testing them on coworkers. It was time to go for it, and we did!
