Born and raised in Maine in the early 60's with my twin sister and two older brothers was a time of fiber, fringe and color. More than 7 years ago, that opportunity of inspiration revealed itself. My beautifully creative, loving and kind twin sister opened a dormant, creative capsule, inside of me, which I had forgotten existed since I was a young girl. “Joan , I am forever grateful for the inspiration you rekindled-showing me what I have always loved — working with fiber!”
I needed a solution to the bulky scarf you only get to enjoy from house to car and work to coat pocket. Creating a functional and fun fashion accessory that could be worn multiple ways and to be enjoyed all day long was my purpose.
This was a way to express my creativity and share it with the world. For me it’s always been about fun, creativity and loving what you do from family, career and hobbies alike. I have been a self-employed entrepreneur creating and owning multiple businesses since I was 25. Today, my fiber creations are in many boutique gift shops all through New England and coming soon will be shared with the Southern Regions of the USA.
In 2017, I was honored to have been asked by the MTV and Golden Globe Organizations in Los Angeles, California to provide a one-of-a-kind creation for them to showcase on the Red Carpet. I flew to L.A. and met many actors, actresses, producers, music professionals etc… I had the luxury of giving them my necklace in person at one of the events. Oh what Fun I had! I have been interviewed by local TV and Radio stations, too. I am living with purpose pridefully and creatively as an artist growing my small business for myself and family.
