The perfect bag is made from up-cycled sails. Whether it is a beach bag, a market tote, a bucket bag or a wristlet, Barnstable Bag Lady's creative designs and durable repurposed fabric embody the beach lifestyle. Hand crafted on Cape Cod, each bag is unique, and many contain the original attributes from the sail. The larger totes are supported by one continuous rope, featuring a hand-made interlocking eye splice. The durable outdoor fabrics used to create colorful designs are fade- and weather-resistant.
My favorite part of my previous retail career was getting to know the customers. When 2020 necessitated a lifestyle change, I started working from home and it wasn't long before I made my first bag. As a maker, doing craft fairs is the perfect way of staying in touch with my customers. I love the freedom of working for myself, maximizing my creativity, and enjoying all of the beauty that the Cape has to offer.
