When I was 18 years old I started Slate Expectations as a side business which quickly became my primary business 15 years later. I’m self taught after taking high school art classes. I knew exactly what I wanted to do for a living and even though I was told I could not make it, I certainly did. It’s been almost 40 years doing what I love and never working a day in my life. It’s not to say that it’s not hard work as all of my Slate that I paint on is from old buildings and Barnes throughout New England. Each piece is hand cut, washed, painted and treated with acrylic for outdoor display. With a large repeat customer base, I look forward to seeing my customers at each and every show. Since 2012, I have had a very successful Etsy store also where my customers can purchase my signs.
