Creating hand-fabricated designs using only traditional metalsmithing techniques; I begin with American recycled fine silver and gold with ethically sourced stones minimizing environmental impact. The metal is recycled from all my own scrap including the dust from sanding. The scrap is melted into a crucible, poured into ingots, hammered down and finally the metal is milled creating sheet & wire. This also allows for my personal mix of silver with no nickel, reducing allergens. Using fire, muscle, and traditional tools like a hammer, mandrel, pliers and snips; the designs spring from my sketchbook or at times it’s a free-flowing process and takes shape while forming. Each hand-fabricated piece is truly one of a kind, cleanly executed, named for the little things that inspire. I strive to offer a diverse price point focusing on providing a handmade quality high design, ethical and artistic piece of wearable art of timeless modernity. Classically trained at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston I use only traditional metalsmithing techniques so that all pieces are one of kind, play with the dichotomy of industrial shape and organic form, and are timelessly modern. Only recycled American silver, gold, & ethical stones are used creating a principled and wearable piece of art. The pieces are priced diversely so that acquiring an American artesian made good is accessible to most. Each stone is handset in artist-made bezels allowing for a more diverse selection of stone shapes and sizes.
No templates, molds, 3D printing, outsourcing, etc., are ever used. Each piece is truly one of a kind, cleanly executed, and named for the little things that inspire. Proud to state that my partner Dana is employed by me as the project manager and apprentice metalsmith.
