My work is inspired by my love of the beach—collecting shells along the shore and enjoying fresh oysters by the sea. I transform real oyster and clam shells into handcrafted pieces that bring a touch of coastal beauty into everyday life. Many of the oyster shells I use are collected from local restaurants that would otherwise discard them. By cleaning and repurposing these shells, I’m able to give them a second life through art. Every piece is one of a kind—just like the shells themselves—and reflects my passion for the ocean, sustainability, and coastal living.
I create: Hand-painted and decoupage trinket dishes made out of oyster and clam shells of all sizes that can be used to hold rings, earrings, keys, coins, and small personal items. Elegant oyster shell wine bottle stoppers Ocean-themed serving trays made with epoxy resin.
My father introduced me to oysters at a very young age when my 2 food groups were pasta and chicken nuggets. It was love at first taste. Not only are they delicious, but I have always been intrigued by their natural beauty. My love for oysters and art culminated a couple years ago when I was at a local restaurant eating oysters (naturally) and watched the waitstaff throw the shells in the trash. That is what inspired me to make handmade holiday gifts for friends and family. They loved them so much that I knew I needed to create and share these one-of-a-kind dishes with others.
