My designs are influenced by the classic beauty of Mesopotamian jewelry, created in the 8-12 c. AD. Artisans of this period produced ornate, openwork pieces with symbolic figures, icons and anthropomorphic images. My process begins with mold making in either soapstone or silicone. I have found Pewter to be a wonderful medium for jewelry making, as it is naturally light and pliable. Pewter provides the perfect base for my distinctive, "ancient" designs. Each piece is cleaned and hand filed from the raw castings. A Bestequip magnetic tumbler finishes the final piece with a soft luster.
