Textiles, Scarves and Dolls
I have been weaving and making dolls for over 30 years.
I love fibers, fabrics, yarns, and textures. I am also committed to a sustainable approach in my art practice and use all natural fibers. I try to repurpose fabrics and obtain my materials from ethical and sustainable sources. Any scraps I have from fabrics and weavings are used to stuff other soft sculpted items. My wearable artwork is made with silk and merino wool that is dyed and spun in Maine. For my soft-sculpted dolls, I mostly use wool, cotton, silk, linen and mohair. I repurpose fabrics and collect fabrics from all over the world. My dolls are meant to be inclusive and to connect with people of all identities. My fiber artwork is aesthetic and functional and made just by me. My work is washable, wearable and lovable!
