One Knit Wonder Co. makes hand knit and crocheted plushies, slippers, bags, hats, headbands, socks, mittens, and seasonal items (pumpkins, stockings, ornaments),

One Knit Wonder Co. was created by myself, Sarah Gately, a 26-year-old avid knitter, and crocheter. I has been knitting and crocheting since I was 11 years old, which was a hobby that sprouted from watching my grandmother knit whenever she was around. I grew up idolizing my grandmother and wanting to be just like her. At the time I thought the best way to get her to spend time with me was to have her teach me how to knit and crochet. It allowed me to go over to her house after school and on the weekends to ask for help or have her look at what I was working on regularly. And when my grandparents moved farther away, we would arrange a time to video chat (as my grandmother was older and very technology challenged, this was no small feat). Upon my grandmother’s passing in 2018, I was given all of her knitting needles, crochet hooks, and pattern books, all of which I use daily. What started as a way to get my grandmother’s attention grew into a hobby I look forward to doing each day and allows me to think about and still feel connected to my grandmother.
 
I enjoy making a wide variety of items ranging from clothing, outerwear, plush stuffed animals, etc. I started out just making items for myself and gifts for my family and friends. But in the past few years, I decided to start One Knit Wonder Co. as a way to grow my work and challenge myself.
